Step 1:
If you're large breasted, consider getting an encapsulation bra which supports the breasts better than other styles of sports bra.
Step 2:
If you're small busted, choose a compression sports bra which presses the breasts against the chest wall to support them.
Step 3:
Don't buy a sports bra online. It's important to go to the store and try on any sports bra you're considering buying. You have no way to know how a bra will feel if you buy it online or by mail.
Step 4:
Don't skimp on quality. It's important to get a high quality sports bra that will last. Don't choose one based only on price.
Step 5:
Choose a sports bra with a breathable fabric. This will help to keep you cool during your workout. A good example is a Nike's DriFit.
Step 6:
When you try on a sports bra at the store, do some of the exercises you normally perform at the gym. Does the bra feel comfortable? If not, don't waste your money.
Step 7:
Try on many sports bras before making your decision. Try on a variety of bras so you can get an idea of what a comfortable one feels like. Don't choose the first bra you try on. Selecting a good sports bra takes time.
Step 8:
Replace your sports bra every six months or so. They eventually lose their elasticity which can mean loss of support for your breasts.
