Kors is the embodiment of classic American designer clothing. In New York Fashion Week S/S 2011, Michael Kors displayed his latest stunning collection for spring. The theme for his show was the Here Comes the Sun. In the palette of whites, sands and beiges, with pops of canary yellow and verdant green, his collection was less slickness and artifice. His key pieces included the tightly ruffled skirts in green and violet color, a sleeveless trench, the cut slacks and a khaki shirtdress-cum-trenchcoat, etc.

In 2005, she was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award from the CDFA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) for her impact on fashion and only after one year, she was elected the new president of CDFA. In New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer, Diane's theme was “Goddess”. In her S/S'11 collection, she championed an electic mix of patterns. Her collection included everything, clever prints, citric tones, vivant hues, knotting, Greek patterns, camel, hooded pieces, alluring turquoise, coral, deep red and purple. Her garments appeared quite simple, taking tailoring fitted trousers, hot pants, jumpsuits, fluid and slinky dresses. In her collection, the “goddess” emerged subtlety, in a dress knotted to one side and a stunning long gown wrapped to one side.
